Editorial Policy
I created Plixters to be a friendly, trustworthy space where I share what I actually wear, test, and love. This page explains how I choose topics, how I review products, how I handle sponsorships and affiliate links, and how I protect the integrity of my content across platforms.
What I cover and how I choose it
I write about women’s fashion, beauty, photo driven styling, and the small lifestyle details that connect them. I choose topics I would recommend to a close friend after real use in daily life, travel, or shoots. Trends are inspiration – not rules. I test ideas in realistic settings and talk about what worked, what did not, and how I would improve it next time.
How I test and review
When I share outfits or beauty products, I note texture, fit, wear time, comfort, care, and how something photographs. If I only swatched or first tried an item, I say so. I photograph my own looks whenever possible. If I use brand or retailer images, I credit the source on the page that features them. I do not accept copy approval from brands. Partners may verify facts like shade names or pricing, but my opinions are mine.
Sourcing and accuracy
I aim to verify shade names, ingredients, materials, sizes, and pricing directly with product packaging or official product pages. If I cannot confirm a detail, I will say so and explain my best understanding based on my hands-on experience. I avoid vague claims and keep comparisons practical and fair.
Updates and corrections
I update posts if details change or if my experience evolves after longer wear or care. If I correct a significant mistake, I add a dated note to the post to explain what changed and why.
Sponsored content and affiliate links
Sometimes I partner with brands or use affiliate links that may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. I always label these clearly and conspicuously in the post and near the link or recommendation, using plain language such as paid partnership, sponsored, or affiliate link. When a post is sponsored, I disclose it at the top of the page. When I include affiliate links in non sponsored posts, I disclose that within the post where the links appear. My opinions are never for sale.
Platform integrity and Pinterest practices
I create Pins and social posts that are authentic to the content they link to. I avoid misleading text overlays, clickbait claims, or links that do not match the description. If a post is flagged or removed on a platform, I review it, fix any issues, and only republish once it aligns with my standards for clarity and safety.
Gifts, PR samples, and events
If I receive a gifted item, PR sample, press discount, or event invite, I disclose that connection in the relevant post. A gift does not guarantee coverage or a positive review. If I keep a gift, I evaluate it with the same scrutiny as a product I purchased myself.
Diversity and representation
Style is personal. I aim to show different price points, sizes when available, and styling options so you can adapt ideas to your life. When an item’s size range or shade range is limited, I call it out and suggest alternatives where possible.
Comments and community submissions
I welcome thoughtful conversation. I remove comments that are hateful, deceptive, promotional spam, or unsafe. Repeated violations may result in a block. Constructive criticism is encouraged when shared respectfully and tied to a specific post or product.
Image use and credits
My photos are copyrighted. You may share one image with a direct, clearly labeled credit to plixters.com, not to the image file itself, and without editing the image. Commercial use requires written permission. To request permission, email hello@plixters.com.
Accessibility and usability
I work to make content readable and useful with clear headings, straightforward language, and descriptive alt text on new posts. If you encounter an accessibility issue, please email me so I can address it quickly.
Environmental and ethical notes
When relevant, I mention care instructions, durability, materials, and repair options. I encourage mindful purchasing and rewearing. When I can, I include notes on secondhand options or ways to restyle pieces you already own.
Feedback and contact
If you spot an error or have a concern, email me at hello@plixters.com with the post title, link, and details. I review correction requests within a reasonable time and update pages as needed.
Why this policy exists
Clarity protects both of us. Clear disclosures, accurate details, and honest testing help you make informed choices and keep Plixters aligned with my values of transparency and respect for readers.
